Standards & Integrity

Editorial Policy

How we collect technical data, cross-reference seller claims, and maintain spec accuracy across international marketplaces.

Source Verification Protocol

Budget keyboard hardware frequently ships without standardized documentation. Our editorial desk applies a uniform verification routine across every component listing we assess:

1. Cross-Referencing Seller Claims We compare manufacturer data sheets, exploded assembly diagrams, and multiple storefront listings to detect discrepancies in dimensions, pin counts, or material grades.
2. Dual-Language Search Queries Because catalog naming varies across regions, we verify and provide search query terminology in both English and French to help international builders find precise production runs on AliExpress.
3. Separation of Spec from Marketing Subjective descriptors like "thocky" or "ultra-smooth" are separated from verifiable mechanical properties such as spring actuation weight, total travel distance, and plate stiffness.

Correction Procedures

Marketplace sellers regularly update PCB revisions, switch molds, or included plate materials without altering listing titles. When we identify a specification change or an error in our published summaries, we follow these guidelines:

  • Prompt Correction: Factual errors in pinouts, orientation flags, or plate thicknesses are corrected directly within the article.
  • Revision Notes: Substantive changes to hardware compatibility rules include a dated note detailing what spec was updated and why.
  • Discontinued or Altered Batches: If a vendor switches from South-facing to North-facing LEDs or removes 5-pin support in newer production runs, the change is highlighted with explicit clearance warnings.
